Current & Past Mutual Aid Projects

With this campaign, we hope to have funds ready to offer to clients to cover the cost of a session when a client is in a bind or may otherwise have to cancel their session due to finances.

As a mental health practice and given our ethics, we believe we have a responsibility to practice psychoeducation and to be a resource around mental health topics for people. We use our Instagram account as a vessel to practice this responsibility by making educational and informational posts. We also hope to create more resources, such as the Florida Resources for Trans People Google Docs resource.

Radical & Restorative donates to and supports local collectives and global online mutual aid efforts on a consistent basis. An example of this is a small recurring donation to Tampa Food Not Bombs. Other mutual aid campaigns are supported on a more random basis. We share this information to demonstrate the ways we practice mutual aid, but to also show how supporting our practice supports local and global efforts.

Our previous mutual aid fund focused on covering multiple sessions for one applicable client. It was successful in covering expenses for a handful of clients. However, with the recession intensifying and cost of living increasing, it seemed necessary to pivot a bit, so we closed this campaign and started the new one.
Other past mutual aid efforts included partnering up with a yoga instructor to provide monthly, free, virtual sessions and also partnering up with a local artist to create merchandise to raise money for therapy sessions.
